Leave Swansea via the A483 and join
the M4 at junction 42 heading East. Leave the M4 at junction 40 (Tailbach)
and proceed up the valley along the A4107. At the top of the valley (approx.
16 km from M4 jnc. 40) keep going and follow the road over the mountain
until you arrive at a junction. Turn left here and follow the A4061 down
into the Rhondda Fawr Valley. Turn left at the bottom of the mountain road
and then first right into Treorchy. At the traffic lights, turn right and
follow the A4058 to Ystrad. At Ystrad, take the A4233 over the mountain,
and turn left at the roundabout at the bottom of the other side. You are
now in Tylorstown. The journey covers a distance of approximately 47 km
and takes about 50 mins (depending on the traffic). |
